Danish kroner notes are issued in DKK 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 denominations. Coins are issued in units of 25 and 50 ø re, and in DKK 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20. As 25 ø re is the smallest coin, amounts lower, or between 25 and 50 ø re will be rounded down or up accordingly, e.g. DKK 37.35 is DKK 37.25, and DKK 37.15 is Dkk 37.25 etc.
Denmark is not part of the EURO-monetary system although major shops may show prices both in Danish kroner and Euro (&euro ). Euro is treated as foreign currency in line with, for instance, UK Sterling. Although some shops may agree to accept Euro as payment, they are not obliged to do so. Any change given may be in Danish kroner or Euro.
